How to Change Your Life in 66 Days
“In order to design a future of positive change, we must first become experts at changing our minds.”
Forget everything that you think you know.
Forget everything that you've been told.
We often have a hard time letting go of ideas, patterns, and habits that we've always known. This is especially true if we've been programmed with unquestioned beliefs and ideologies by the ones closest to us from the beginning of our time.
How can we grow if we're closed off to what could be? It's time to acquire a fresh perspective, questioning the old in an effort to make room for the new.
Identify Your Nightmares
Goals, dreams, and fantasies are on every corner. We all have them and can list them on command without hesitation. But let me ask you a few questions.
Can you describe your ideal future from an inverted perspective? What do you NOT want for your life? You will struggle with this if you've only approached future-building thoughts from a traditional lens. But that's okay, developing a new mindset is not without friction.
After you identify your anti-life, think about the people, places, and things around you that increase the likelihood of that outcome.
If you're able to identify anything at all, then you are aware of the toxic properties surrounding you. Let's take action.
Cut all things non-conducive to your dreams out of your life. No excuses, only accountability for your future.
Creating a System For Growth And Self-Engineering
What is a system?
"a set of things working together as parts of a mechanism or an interconnecting network"
The "set of things" are the building blocks in your everyday life that contribute to who you are. The interconnecting network is...you.
Why do you need a system for growth and engineering your ideal self?
Without intentional actions, your future is being sculpted by someone else
A system forces consistency which is often the solution to our problems
Each day will be filled with purpose and reward
How To Get Started
Map out your growth regions
If you don't know where you're going, you are lost. You must take the time to identify all of the areas in which you will grow. After identifying the areas, turn the curiosity for self-discovery outward and look for solutions.
For example: I was recently invited to be a guest speaker at a previous school of mine which prompted a growth signal in public speaking and articulation. Now, every day I read out loud, practice tongue twisters, and listen to speakers who I wish to emulate.
What I am describing is simply a problem, solution relationship and will serve as the foundation for building your unique system.
Immerse yourself in a like-minded network
"You are the sum of the five people you hang around with"
If those around you lack drive, purpose, and morals, chances are you will fall into the same habits and belief system over a long enough time horizon. But I want to take it a step further;
You transform into what your mind body and soul consume. From music, TV, podcasts, and social media, you will begin to form a belief system around what captures your attention.
Be intentional around your time and actions or be sculpted to live a life that someone else has designed for you.
How To Maximize Your System
Eliminate all self-limiting beliefs
“The only thing that stands between you and your dream is the will to try and the belief that it is actually possible.”
We limit ourselves and what we think we're capable of by not trying. If you're unwilling to try, you're unwilling to succeed. Trying is a declaration of self-belief and confidence that no one can gift to you.
They are earned through intentional trial and error.
Don't be afraid to fail because there is a lesson in each failure that will teach you how to be a better version of yourself.
Fail. Learn. Succeed. Repeat.
Be consistent for 66 days (extremely important)
“Consistency is the true foundation of trust. Either keep your promises or do not make them.”
Studies show that on average it takes around 66 days to automate your new behavior and form habits.
If you take nothing from the words throughout my writing, please understand this: If you aren't consistent in your actions and the promises you have made to yourself, nothing else matters.
You will continue to operate in the trap of the familiar and produce the same outcomes that you have known your entire life.
Consistency is not easy and is often tedious, but it is worth the effort on your path to self-enabled freedom and a more refined version of yourself.
Extraordinary consistency will produce extraordinary results.
Wrapping up
If you want to outperform every previous version of yourself, you have to start doing what you thought you never could and believing what you never did.
In a world filled with mind-numbing distraction after distraction, filtering out the noise is the way to discover your purpose, vision, and path to leaving a value-driven impact.
Have a great week,
